The onboarding process has steps that need to be completed before the candidate can be cleared to start work, on their first day, and in the weeks following their start.

Before employees first day

Workday onboarding

After the manager completed the Hire step?, the candidate receives a series of onboarding action items in Workday they must complete before starting work including contact information, policy sign-offs, payment elections, and Form I-9.

REMINDER - the candidate may not start work until the manager receives an email? approval notice from Employee Services.  


Form I-9

  • If possible, employee should schedule an appointment with Employee Services before their start date to complete the in-person portion of Form I-9.

    • Employee will need to bring with them unexpired, original documents from the list of Form I-9 Acceptable Documents (note – employee needs to bring EITHER one document from List A, OR one document from List B and List C).

(Note – follow steps in order below to ensure you have resources needed to complete each step.)


When you arrive

  • Campus Safety will direct you to visitor parking.

  • If you have not completed the in-person portion of your Form I-9 previously, your first stop will be Employee Services. 

    • If you completed your Form I-9 previously, you may head straight to your department.


IT access

  • Your supervisor will provide you log-in credentials to Lynn University systems.  

    • For additional support or resources (e.g., specific applications, log-in difficulties), place an IT ticket through the Lynn University Service Center.

In employees first 30 days

Orientation

  • Employee will receive an invite to attend a new hire orientation within their first two weeks of employment. Orientation is required for all full-time new hires to receive important information about Lynn’s culture and their benefit options.

 

Benefits

  • Full-time employees are eligible to participate in university benefit plans.
  • Healthcare plans need to be elected within 30 days from the date of hire and coverage begins the first day of the month following employee's hire date.
  • At new hire orientation, employees will receive valuable benefit information, learn how to make elections in Workday, and have the opportunity to ask questions.


Directory Photo

  • Full-time employees should email headshots@lynn.edu for an appointment to take their photo for the campus directory.


Training

  • All new employees are required to complete new hire training.
    • Employees will receive an email with credentials to log into SafeColleges, Lynn’s online training system.
    • Please note you have 30 days from date of hire to complete all required trainings.
