When a department is interested in filling a vacancy or new position, they are encouraged to contact their dedicated HR Generalist to discuss goals and strategies.


For new positions, managers must use the Create Position process in Workday to request a position before posting.  (For existing positions, skip to Step Two: Request to post position.)


When completing the Create Position process in Workday, managers should:

  • Include a job description in the appropriate fields.

  • In the Comment section, include a brief position justification for regular full and part-time positions (excluding adjuncts and student positions).


Once a new position is approved in Workday, the manager should place an IT ticket through the Lynn University Service Center for any equipment needed (e.g., laptop) or a work order for any adjustments to their office space.


Then, the manager should move to Step Two: Request to post position.
