Work From Home PC Setup Instructions

Equipment Needed

• Power strip 

• Ethernet Cable 

• PC (Dell Optiplex 9020/Optiplex 7040)

• Power Cable
• Keyboard

• Mouse
• Additional personal and optional devices not provided by the university (headset, webcam, etc.)

• Monitor
  • Power Cable

• Display Cable 
• USB 3.0 Cable

First, decide on a location that works best for being able to connect the computer to the internet. *Note* The Dell Optiplex 9020/7040 do not have wireless capabilities. These machines must be hard wired to a modem/router. Also, consider the cable itself as it may become a tripping hazard if it is run across the floor.

Next, connect the power strip to a receptacle in the area where the computer will be installed.

From here follow the color scheme of diagram to match which cable goes to which input on the PC.
